For the Pavilion of India at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, our studio was commissioned to document the artists, studios, and processes behind Geographies of Distance: remembering home, curated by Dr. Amin Jaffer.
Travelling across India between workshops, homes, studios, and production sites, we followed the development of works by Alwar Balasubramaniam, Sumakshi Singh, Ranjani Shettar, Asim Waqif, and Skarma Sonam Tashi. Conceived as a reflection on memory, belonging, and the idea of home across time and distance, the exhibition foregrounded materials, gestures, and forms deeply rooted in lived experience. The resulting body of photographs seeks to document not only artworks in the making, but also the material and human contexts from which they emerge.
