Commissioned by the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bengaluru, Studio Art Objects documented We Don’t End at Our Edges, an exhibition by Ravikumar Kashi exploring the material and conceptual possibilities of language. Working across artwork photography and artist portraiture, the assignment focused on translating the scale, delicacy, and spatial presence of Kashi's suspended paper sculptures into images.
Particular attention was given to the works' porous structures and their relationship to light. As illumination passes through the intricate surfaces, the sculptures generate shifting shadows that become an extension of the work itself. Our approach sought to capture this interplay between object and atmosphere, revealing forms that appear less as solid bodies than as permeable membranes, recalling both skin and language: surfaces through which meaning, memory, and connection circulate.
Produced for archival, publication, and institutional use, the photographs balance rigorous documentation with an attention to the experiential qualities of the exhibition.
